MBK Partners seeks to invest in industry-leading companies and, in partnership with management, to grow and create value in its portfolio companies.

With a dedicated focus on investments in North Asia - China, Japan and Korea - MBK Partners has offices in Beijing, Hong Kong, Seoul, Shanghai and Tokyo. Our investment teams are composed of local professionals with strong local relationships and market knowledge. Through the combination of its size and its status as a local and independent firm, MBK Partners has a competitive advantage in sourcing, executing and managing investments in its target markets. Buyout investments in Korea are made out of Korea-registered funds managed in accordance with local regulatory requirements.1

MBK Partners Buyouts acquires companies through management-led buyouts, buys subsidiary businesses through corporate divestitures, partners with strategic buyers, takes publicly listed companies private and purchases and grows companies through add-on acquisitions. While the firm makes complex acquisitions in various forms, our strategy is simple and focused: we do buyouts in North Asia. We focus on control investments because we believe control is essential to creating value. We may also pursue selected minority investments where we can add strategic value. We limit our investment activities to China, Japan and Korea on the basis of our competitive advantage in these markets.

MBK Partners Special Situations invests in customized, secured lending, secondary credit investments in stressed and distressed opportunities and non-control structured equity investments.

MBK Partners seeks to invest in companies or businesses with strong fundamentals that face short-term capital needs, require complex and sophisticated structuring and strategic minority equity investments. Typically, MBK Partners seeks to partner with management with strong capabilities and experience. We focus our investments activities in China, Japan and Korea on the basis of our competitive advantage in these markets.
